VMware has introduced a new free eLearning module with a focus on Network Virtualization. This three hour training will teach you what Network Virtualization is, who needs it and why and it will explain important technologies such as VMware NSX, VXLAN and VMware vCloud Networking and Security (vCNS). This course is a starting point for those who want to become VMware Certified Associate – Network Virtualization (VCA-NV).
VMware offers several types of virtual network adapters that you can add to your virtual machines. Depending on the operating system you install it will select a default adapter when you create a VM. For Windows the default adapter type is the Intel E1000. There is however an adapter that will give you a better performance, which is the VMware VMXNET3 adapter.
